As a project planner you are the connecting factor between the internal organization, master planner and project management. With your eager and proactive attitude, you dive into the (sub) components of the project or master planning and monitor the progress within the projects. You identify potential disruptions and potential planning risks quickly and early. This includes the timeliness of the delivery of drawings by engineering, the purchase of parts and possible production disruptions.

You work very closely with all internal stakeholders who could influence the delivery time. You participate in the project team meetings and you advise and assist the project managers in order to be able to deliver the project to the customer on time. You have a clear signaling function and you love dynamics and keeping all the balls high. You are good at communicating what possible hick-ups are in meeting the schedule and you help draw up ‘what-if’ scenarios. Your ingenuity and communication skills will be put to the test in order to steer the projects through the organization in a timely and smooth manner, together with the various fellow stakeholders from other departments.

You dare to address people about the importance of the timeliness of all the different steps within a project and you obtain and provide the necessary information internally to achieve a good planned result. You prepare the phasing and execution plan together with the project managers, fellow master planner and other stakeholders, taking into account all aspects of the work, such as logic, contract requirements, resource planning within projects and uncertainties. The process starts at project kick-off and continues until customer takeover.
